Your Cat Can’t Scratch Off These Rubber Feet

Attention all cat lovers! Anti-skid self-adhesive rubber feet are on various pet items; including scratching posts, cat trees, pet bowls, and litter boxes for cats and dogs to prevent them from sliding. Our rubber bumper feet help to avoid any damage to your floors caused by the movement of these products. The question is how do you prevent your cat from doing the same?

Rubber Feet on Kitty Scratch Pole

What to Scratch or Not to Scratch

Cat owners know that they can’t stop their cat from scratching things in their home, but they can teach them what to scratch. Cats scratch objects in their environment to mark their territory by leaving a mark and a scent. Train your cat to use the Kitty Scratch Pole instead of your expensive floors, closet doors, and furniture. Mother Earth Products, Inc. created this product with the cat and owner in mind. This particular scratching pole is an eco-friendly alternative that is safe for your pet and does not harm the environment. The base and top are made of sustainable wood and finished in PolyWhey, a durable, non-toxic finish. The core consists of a cardboard mailing tube and cardboard discs, which can be recycled.

Our BS-24 black cylindrical rubber feet are placed on the bottom of the Kitty Scratch Pole to give it more stability and to protect your floors from any nicks or scuffs. We are excited to see our rubber bumper feet on this product, as well as other unique applications. Next time you pull out your cat’s favorite food, take a look at your cabinets because our rubber bumper pads are sure to be on there too.

Check out this cat compilation video that will be sure to make you laugh!!

Don’t Be Bumped Off Your Network

Google Jumps into the Network

To say network devices play a part in our everyday lives is an understatement. Just like these devices, rubber feet are everywhere and serve as protectors.  We are constantly surfing the web, checking email, accessing our social media pages, or online shopping. Modems and routers play a pivotal part in the overall production in today’s society. Since technology is constantly changing, there is always a new product, design or upgrade that becomes available to increase overall performance. Google has recently unveiled a new Wi-Fi router called the OnHub. This tabletop router provides a new way of accessing your Wi-Fi by using the OnHub app on your smartphone. It automatically adjusts your settings to provide a better user experience within in your Wi-Fi environment.

Rubber Feet on Bottom of Routers & Modems

There are different types of network routers and modems on the market that vary in shape and size, but there is a part that is common in all of them. At the bottom of each router there are four rubber feet that protect the router and the surface it is on. At Bumper Specialties, Inc., we offer several styles of rubber feet that will fit on different types of routers. We also provide replacement feet in various shapes and sizes for this particular application just like we do for laptop feet.

Keep the Party Bumping

We are always proud of the fact that our bumper feet are manufactured in the USA.  The Fourth of July is right around the corner; all you need is a hot dog, a cold drink, and a nice body of water to bronze yourself next to. While you’re enjoying your picnic this year, take a moment to notice the rubber bumper pads around the party. (Because they are definitely more exciting than fireworks!)
This grill uses protective rubber feet.
On your quest looking for our products, you may find them being used to protect your barbecue, which is one of our many outdoor bumpon applications. Collapsible shelves and doors on the grill are equipped with rubber bumpons for sound dampening and vibration resistance. After all, you want the party to be loud, not the slamming of the grill. If you take grilling very seriously, you’ll want to ensure that your equipment stays in mint condition. The precious grilling atmosphere that you’ve created won’t be interrupted by unnecessary noise. Our products prevent your grill from succumbing to wear and tear by serving as protective stops.
Glass table using protective rubber bumpons.
Grills are not the only outdoor application; bumpons are used on glass patio furniture as a buffer between the glass and the table frame. The bumper feet prevent the glass from getting cracked or scratched. Your outdoor furniture will last longer so that the party never has to end.  And you shouldn’t be concerned about inclement weather; self-adhesive polyurethane bumpons can withstand all climates.

We may not have red and blue color options, but we do have white, clear, grey, black and brown bumpons available. You can check out our full line on our website. From all of us here at Bumper Specialties, have a fun and safe Fourth of July!

Oh, the Places Bumpers Go!

Bumper feet relaxing on the beach in the West Indies - Four Seasons in Nevis
Bumper feet like to vacation in style; that’s why you can find our rubber grips in luxury hotels all over the world. Hotels provide all the essentials: a bed, a toilet, a safe, a telephone, and of course, bumper feet. The pictures featured in this blog are from the beautiful hotels that use our rubber feet.
Bumper feet are used throughout this hotel room – Four Seasons, Seychelles
On your next vacation, as you settle into your hotel suite and acquaint yourself with the mini bar snacks, take a peek around the room. Can you spot the bumper feet? Look behind the door; the rubber stop protecting the handle from hitting the wall – that’s us. Lift up the telephone and look on the bottom, those bumper feet grip the tabletop so the phone doesn’t slide off. The safe where you’re keeping your passport and jewelry also has bumper feet on the bottom. The desk with the glass top has rubber spacers between the wood and the glass to protect the veneer of the wood. The picture frames use bumper feet to stay level and protect the wall from scratches. The acrylic display announcing the HBO movies and room service menu has bumper feet, check them out while you order overpriced mac & cheese. Bumper feet allow for the perfect placement of objects all around the hotel room including phones, soap trays, safes, iPod docks, and pictures frames.

Hotel rooms have become as luxurious as the destinations themselves. The Nevis West Indies, a Four Seasons hotel, provides all the comforts of home with a breathtaking view of the blue sea on which it sits. This five-star Caribbean getaway is perfect for honeymoons or vacations for the whole family. The only downside to a vacation like this is not being able ‘stick’ around forever (like our bumpers do)!

DIY Using Rubber Feet

Our self-adhesive bumpers can be used on a variety of projects, from homemade picture frames to DIY kitchen cabinet protection.  So dust off the cobwebs from your Pinterest boards! You pinned that DIY project six months ago while daydreaming of warmer climates, and they’ve finally arrived.

Go outside and grab some inspiration from the blooming flowers for your springtime DIY craft. Luckily, the Bumper Specialties’ Pinterest boards have no shortage of ideas in which you can gain inspiration or build something of your own creation; whichever you choose, make sure you bring bumper feet with you.

There are DIY drink coaster projects on Pinterest that use clear rubber feet. This project in particular uses a stencil to imprint an image on the glass coaster. Their final but most important step is putting rubber feet on the underside of the tile!
Rubber feet on DIY coasters!
Rubber feet are the unsung heroes of these projects. You might not be able to see them, but affixing rubber pads on the corners of your coasters ensures the longevity of your handiwork. Bumpers are especially important for glass or ceramic coasters because they will not scratch, mar, stain, or otherwise ruin your tabletop. Try an inconspicuous clear hemispherical bumper like our BS-12 that will blend seamlessly with the aesthetic of the coaster.

Buzzfeed published a list of DIY ceramic coasters perfect for a spring afternoon project. We especially like #8, check out the cool watercolor effect you can achieve using markers. You can also use things you find around the house, like old doilies or a burlap bag.

Once you’ve completed your project, head to your patio and enjoy your coasters with a nice glass of lemonade and let the vitamin D - and the gratification of accomplishment - wash over you.

And the Oscar Goes To…Rubber Bumper Feet

This year at the Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence tripped, Brad Pitt ate a slice of pizza, and Ellen DeGeneres took a selfie that broke Twitter. However, amidst all the glitz and glamour, Bumper Specialties was only concerned with one thing: Are there non-slip rubber feet on those pretty gold Academy Award statues? Were our bumpers in the hands of (gasp!) Matthew McConaughey?

As the rich and famous bumped shoulders with their peers, we were thinking of our own bumpers. If our self adhesive protectors were indeed on Oscar, he would definitely have been voted Best Dressed based on his amazing accessories.

Some quick investigative work revealed these statistics about Oscar:

Height: 13.5”
Weight: 8.5 lbs.
Number of Awards Ever Presented: 2,809
Number of Rubber Feet: UNKNOWN (we’d suggest placing 4 rubber feet on the bottom of your award)

Clearly the Academy is unaware that without bumpers applied to Oscar, he could slip, slide, and crash into all of Meryl’s other awards. If the Academy did call us to outfit Oscar, we’d suggest our BS-40 rubber bumper because it is small, inconspicuous, and destined for the stage. The biggest snub of the evening was the supposed lack of bumper feet!

One bumper user that specializes in trophy and award production is SD Trophy in California. With a variety ranging from Artistic Glass Awards, Achievement Acrylic Awards, and Clear Optical Crystal Awards, they’ll provide you with top quality on any award application.

Our rubber feet appear on the bottoms of trophies and awards for a non-slip grip on any surface. SD Trophy sells beautiful awards, so it is important to utilize rubber protectors to ensure both the award and the surface it’s displayed on are protected from scuffing or marring.

More information can be found about applying bumper feet toglass artwork, but meanwhile, check out this gorgeous acrylic award by SD Trophy.

Laptop Feet

Rubber feet on the bottom of your laptop are as important as the hard drive and monitor!  Well, maybe that is not so true, but they are critical and greatly contribute to your computer’s health.  When laptops run, they create heat.  To prevent them from overheating, rubber feet raise and elevate the laptop enough from the tabletop surface to allow an air flow.  Without bumpers, laptops can overheat, causing it to shut off automatically, freeze, and even damage your computer battery.

Sometimes, the factory issued rubber feet on the bottom of laptops fall off.  Luckily, Bumper Specialties laptop replacement feet are easy to apply and stay secured.  Just peel them like a sticker, and place them on the bottom of your laptop, easy as that!  No screws or glue are required.  Replacing your laptop feet is easy!
People use our replacement rubber feet for some of the largest laptop manufactures in the world.  They are used for replacement on HP, Toshiba, Asus, Sony, and Dell laptop rubber feet.  Our most popular choices come from our cylindrical bumper line.  Our Hemispherical and Square rubber feet are popular options too.

For Macbook Pro replacement feet, we manufacture a similar bumper to those that originally came on the Apple laptop.  Our BS-39 is similar to existing Mac book rubber feet.  They are easy to apply with our special self adhesive backing.  Here is a detailed video we found that shows how to replace feet on a Macbook.

As a manufacturer we sell our rubber feet in bulk, but we have smaller quantities available on our website with a single sheet option.  Bumper Specialties has authorized distributers throughout the world that can help you find your replacement laptop feet.

Bumper Specialties has a broad range of rubber feet, so you can be sure to find one that suites your laptop best!

Rubber Feet Like to Party!

Bumper Specialties rubber feet are getting ready to kick off summer in a fun way!  Our bumper feet are not only used to protect  everyday products like cabinet doors and picture frames, they can cut loose and have amusing purposes as well. Our small rubber feet are stuck on a fun drinking device called The Party Bomber.  We guarantee it will be the center of attention for any summer party or barbecue.

The Party Bomber is a way to mix, bomb, and serve multiple drinks at once.  Great for Jäger bombs, sake bombs, cherry bombs, or any other favorite.  You can even use it to concoct mixed drinks.  Just call your shot, and fill a pint glass with your favorite mix, press the button, and BOOM!  Four drinks ready to go!  Watch this video and see the Party Bomber in action:

You don’t need to worry about spilling your beverages all over the counter.  Our self adhesive rubber feet applied to the bottom of the acrylic Party Bomber prevents skidding or sliding.  You can thank rubber feet for minimizing party fouls by the Party Bomber, but we make no promises about you or your friends.

Rubber feet on The USB Typewriter

It’s a computer!  It’s a typewriter!  It’s BOTH!

Got an old typewriter lying around the attic or garage, gathering dusty?  Progressive technology left these typewriters—once imperative to business and education—to do nothing except take up space….until now!   The USB Typewriter combines new age technology with a classic touch.  USB Typewriters are perfect for those of you that miss tapping away on an older QWERTY.  This typewriter can attach to your 21st century screen, MAC or PC, tablet, or iPad.

USB Typewriter gives old typewriters new meaning in this digital era, but also sells Do-It-Yourself conversion kits so you can turn your own beloved typewriter into a USB Typewriter.  These machines still fully function as “ink-on-paper” typewriters, but also electronically record keystrokes which make them compatible with your computer, tablet, or iPad.

The USB Typewriters use Bumper Specialties’ rubber feet  to electrically isolate the circuit board on the side of the machine, so it doesn't touch the metal typewriter frame.  This retro product gives a new application for our rubber bumper feet.  We are glad to be affiliated with inventive and unique products like the USB Typewriter.

Cutting Board Feet

The snow is melting, the sun is shining, and bright colors are flocking back into everyone’s wardrobes.  Yes, spring has sprung at Bumper Specialties!  The arrival of this bright season includes lots more gardening and vegetable chopping.  Interestingly enough, a very common use for our rubber feet is cutting boards!   We know some blogs and web pages are dedicated entirely to which material is best to use for a cutting board, but at Bumper Specialties, we love them all!
Our self adhesive feet are used on a variety of kitchen cutting boards.  These bumpers stick on wood chopping blocks made of everything from teak to bamboo.  Also, our strong adhesive works well for plastic, glass, and acrylic cutting boards.  These bumpers stabilize even marble and granite cutting boards.  We have some great customers that make high quality and unique cutting boards using all sorts of materials—all of which use our rubberized feet.

Rubber Feet on Glass and Plastic Cutting Boards

Glass cutting board from Vance, uses rubber feet
Glass and plastic cutting boards are very popular kitchen cutting boards.   They are both easy to keep clean because they can withstand strong disinfectants and cleaners without any damage to the board.  And don’t worry about losing your rubber bumper feet on the bottom of your cutting board: we offer an high performance acrylic adhesive
that can survive the wash cycle and still hold tough to the bottom of your glass cutting board.  You can find Bumper Specialties bumpers sticking strong to a Vance cutting board!

Rubber Feet on Granite

Our rubber feet stabilize even the heaviest of cutting boards, like granite and marble.  Take a look at these gorgeous pieces by Deer Isle Granite!  Deer Isle granite prides itself on being part of American history, supplying granite for such landmarks like Rockefeller Center in New York City.  Clearly, Deer Isle Granite is the absolute top-of-the-line in the granite industry… so it only makes sense to have top of the line bumpers protecting them!

Deer Isle Granite products; cutting board, center
Deer Isle Granite use our rubber feet to protect a variety of kitchen applications, including their granite cutting boards,  trivets, serving boards, and paper towel dispensers!  Our plastic feet are long-lasting quality, just like Deer Isle Granite products.
So this spring, enjoy the nice weather and fresh veggies with a new cutting board, be it wooden, plastic or granite.  And don’t forget to look for those small (but important!) rubberized feet keeping your cutting board in place!

Unique Application of Bumper Specialties, Inc.'s Rubber Feet: The Frivolous Engineering Company

With countless applications in multiple industries throughout the world, including everything from cabinet door stops, picture frame corner protectors, and cutting board feet to iPod dock speakers, laptop rubber feet, and other electronics, we here at Bumper Specialties never cease to be amazed by some of the creative and unique uses for our self-adhesive polyurethane bumper feet.

In this blog post, we would like to feature one of our customers who, we believe, has found a very interesting application on which to use our bumpers. From Regina, SK, Canada, The Frivolous Engineering Company builds and sells something they call, “The Most Useless Machine EVER!” As the video for this clever little box has over 8,000,000 YouTube views (WOW!), you may have already seen it, but if not, here it is:

Bumper Specialties, Inc.'s self-adhesive rubber feet can be found on the bottom of this device. The bumper stops serve to stabilize the machine on any type of desk, table, or countertop, preventing skidding or sliding. The best part is that these bumper pads do not contain plasticizers, oils, or fillers, so they won't mar, scratch, or stain any surface.

We can’t wait to get our hands on one of The Ultimate Useless Machines, but don’t expect to hear from us for a while once we do. We’ll be busy trying to keep that box open. Why would someone construct a  contraption whose only function is to turn itself off? We haven’t a clue. It’s maddening, but then again, that’s why it’s such a remarkably successful invention. Cork Stops and Foam Pads

Cork Pads and Foam Feet
Cork Pads and Foam Feet
Comparing self-adhesive cork pads and protective foam feet against our polyurethane bumper stops leaves the cork and foam in the dust. Bumper Specialties, Inc.’s polyurethane bumper feet provide a quieter close for cabinet doors than the competition. Our bumpers hold up longer when used underneath glass table tops and will not tear or break down as easily as round cork feet and hexagon shaped foam pads do. Since cork and foam are lower-quality materials than polyurethane, attempting to bond a reliable adhesive to these parts is a difficult task. Typically, the adhesives used on cork bumpers and foam pads are just as cheap and unreliable as the stoppers themselves, preventing these parts from performing properly. Bumper Specialties, Inc.’s self-adhesive polyurethane bumper stops are the clear winner in comparison to cork stoppers or foam bumpers.

Success In Europe

See How a Serious Setback was Solved with a Simple Solution!

Not long ago, we were contacted by a customer of ours; a European manufacturer of high-end espresso machines. They had been buying one of our square black bumper feet for their coffee makers for a while and had never had any problems. Until now. The company was expanding, and with a brand new facility and all new staff on board, the last thing they wanted to have to deal with was a bumper that wouldn’t stick.

After explaining their dilemma to us, we got to work right away to find a solution for their unique problem. We know that our bumper adhesive should never fail, so something had to be wrong with the customer’s process. We tested our parts here in the factory. We checked through our inventory and through all the lots that had been run. Everything was exactly as it should be. It was time for a plane ride and to visit our customer in person.

We were greeted warmly when we arrived and shown around their new manufacturing facility. We watched workers on assembly lines unpack boxes of our bumpers, ready to affix them to the appliances on their way. What happened next made our jaws drop.

Workers picked up the bumper sheets and quickly began removing the stoppers, one after another, not to place them on the coffee machines, but rather on their arms. As the coffee makers came down the line, the workers were pulling the bumpers off their arms and sticking a few of them onto the bottom of each appliance. Finally we knew why the adhesive on our bumpers was failing on their products.  They were being applied incorrectly!

We immediately explained to our customer why this way of applying the bumpers wouldn’t work and instructed them on How to Apply Rubber Bumper Stops the right way. We explained that the bumpers must go directly from their sheet to the application, without touching skin or any other surface. While the bumpers are being stored, we told them, they must be kept at 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.

Today, this company continues to buy our products and is happier than ever that we were able to help them with their problem. They haven’t had a single issue with using our bumpers since then.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and if you have an issue, we will work with you until a solution is found. If necessary, we will travel and meet you in person to rectify any concerns you may have. This is what sets us apart from the competition. We have the knowledge and expertise from our years in the bumper business and will follow through until you are completely satisfied.
